Dr. Gross is actively involved in several organizations that provide medical and orthopaedic care around the world. He first led an orthopaedic trip to Bonne Fin, Haiti in 2018 with the South Carolina Orthopaedic Association. Here, he and his team managed complex acute and chronic orthopaedic trauma and deformity at Hospital Lumiere.
Dr. Gross then started to work with an organization dedicated to complex limb deformity and congenital abnormalities with Steps2Walk. In May 2022, he taught surgeons and treated patients in Krakow, Poland.
He then travelled to Medkya, Poland and then Shehyni, Ukraine in June 2022 where he helped treat refugees that were fleeing the war. He worked with the French-Israeli Relief Organization, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) which translates to Doctors without Borders.
In October 2022, Dr. Gross travelled to Montevideo, Uruguay where he again taught surgeons and treated children and adults with recurrent clubfeet, complex limb deformity, and post-traumatic arthritis with Steps2Walk.
Dr. Gross treated the indigenous Chilean Mapuche in Temuco, Chiles in September 2023 wherein he treated at a unique hospital that combined both traditional and Western medicine. He performed revision surgeries on patients who needed complex limb reconstruction.
Dr. Gross last travelled to Manila, Philippines in October 2024 with Steps2Walk where his team treated complex limb deformities in pediatric and adult patients in the middle of a typhoon.
He will next be heading to Salvador, Brazil in October 2025 with Steps2Walk.
